What coverages are offered in the Shriram Life Smart Protection Plan?

This option covers premature demise. If the insured passes away during the policy term, the death sum assured is paid.

This option has an inbuilt accidental death benefit. So, if the insured passes away during the policy term, the death sum assured is paid. An additional death sum assured is paid if the insured dies in an accident.

This option has an inbuilt critical illness benefit that covers six illnesses:

• Cancer of specified severity
• Stroke that results in permanent symptoms
• First heart attack of specified severity
• Open-chest coronary artery bypass graft surgery
• Kidney failure that requires regular dialysis
• Major organ or bone marrow transplant

If the insured passes away during the policy term, the death sum assured is paid. If, on the other hand, the insured suffers from any of the aforementioned critical illnesses, 25% of the sum assured will be paid up front. The future premiums will be waived and the coverage will continue. In case of demise, the death sum assured will be paid. If, however, the policy matures, no benefit will be paid.
