 1. Identify the Reason for Freeze

Your account may be frozen if:

  • You missed the minimum annual contribution (₹1,000).
     
  • KYC details are outdated or invalid.
     
  • Technical errors occurred in your last payment.

 2. Reactivate Online or Offline

You can unfreeze your NPS account in two ways:

  • Online:

Visit eNPS portal or CRA platforms like Protean or KFintech. Log in with your PRAN and password/OTP, then select the “Reactivate Account” option.

  • Offline:

Go to your nearest PoP or PoP-SP (bank or post office). Fill out Form UOS-S10-A for reactivation.

 3. Pay Dues and Penalties

To unfreeze your NPS account, you must:

  • Pay a minimum of ₹1,000 per missed year.
     
  • Pay a penalty of ₹100 per default year.
     
  • Make your regular contribution (₹500 or more).

 4. Submit Documents

Provide:

  • PRAN card
     
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport)
     
  • Reactivation form (if offline)
     

After processing, your NPS account becomes active within 1–7 working days.

 5. Confirmation

Once reactivated, you’ll receive a confirmation via SMS or email. You can log in again to verify the status of your account.
