Cancer protection insurance does not provide any maturity benefits.
Do I need a cancer cover policy even with a health insurance plan?
A health insurance policy provides coverage for hospitalisation and treatment expenses in the hospital. Health insurance policies might not cover the entire cost of cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, etc. for which you need a cancer care policy. Moreover, the policy can give additional financial assistance in uncertain times.
When does the cancer protection insurance gets terminated?
Cancer protection insurance gets terminated on payment of the fixed benefit on diagnosis of critical-stage cancer in option 1. Under Option 2, after the critical-stage claim payment, the policy runs for five more years when the monthly earnings are paid and then terminated.
What happens if the life insured passes away during the monthly payout tenure?
If the life insured passes away during the monthly payout tenure, the monthly earning will not stop. It will be paid for the specified duration.
How much value will I receive if I surrender the cancer insurance policy?
You will not get any amount as surrender value is not applicable under the cancer insurance policy.
Can I pay the premiums for the cancer care policy monthly?
You cannot pay the premiums for the cancer care policy monthly as the premium payment modes fare yearly, half-yearly and quarterly.
I have revived my lapse cancer care policy. Can I file a claim now?
You cannot file a claim for 180 days from the date of revival of your policy as the waiting period is applicable for the cancer care policy. However, the waiting period would not be applicable if the period of lapse of the policy is less than 60 days or if you have completed the waiting period under the policy.
What will happen if I fail to pay the premiums of the cancer insurance policy on time?
If you fail to pay the premiums of the cancer insurance policy on time, you can pay it within 30 days from the date of the first unpaid premium, failing which your policy will lapse and coverage under the plan will cease.
How much premium would be refunded if I cancel the cancer care policy during the free look period?
The full premium paid for the cancer care insurance policy till the date of cancellation would be refunded if you cancel the plan during the free look period. However, the proportionate risk premium for the period of cover, stamp duty charges and medical examination expenses, if any, would be deducted before the refund.
