What Coverages Are Offered Under the Family Income Benefit Rider?

Accidental Death

During the rider tenure, if the life insured suffers an accident and passes away within 180 days of the accident due to the injuries suffered, the Family Income Benefit Rider will pay an additional benefit.

Accidental Disability

During the rider tenure, if the life insured suffers an accident and gets permanently and totally disabled within 180 days of the accident, the rider benefit will be paid.

For the disability benefit, the following conditions should be met -

  • The life insured cannot work or get employment to earn an income after the accidental injury.
  • The life insured loses eyesight in both eyes or suffers the loss of both limbs or the loss of one hand and one leg.
  • The life insured cannot independently do three or more basic lifestyle activities after the accidental injury, such as washing, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting, etc.

The Family Income Benefit Rider pays the rider sum assured in monthly instalments. 1% of the rider sum assured is paid till the end of the rider's tenure or 10 years, whichever is later.
