Your Customer ID (also called CIF) is the 10‑digit code that the bank uses to identify you. It’s different from your bank account number.

You’ll often need it when registering on the mobile app or calling customer care.

Quick ways to find it
If you need it fast, try these:

  • Check your passbook or welcome kit — the ID is printed near the account number.

  • Open the IPPB mobile banking app → Profile/Account details section → you’ll see your Customer ID.

  • From your registered mobile number send SMS: GETCIF <DDMMYYYY> to 9910228664 (or number given) — you’ll get the ID by SMS.

  • Call customer care (155299) from your linked mobile and ask for the Customer ID after verification.

  • Visit the post‑office access point (IPPB branch) with your ID and they’ll help you retrieve it.

Real‑life example (quick tip!)
Meet Rahul. He wanted to set up UPI payments but the app asked for his Customer ID. He didn’t remember it. He scanned the QR card he got when opening the IPPB account, found the ID in 2 minutes, and completed UPI setup. In short: keep your QR card/passbook safe — it can save time.

If you changed your mobile number or lost your phone

  • Visit any IPPB access point/post office with valid photo ID and ask for your Customer ID.

  • You may need to re‑register your new mobile number with the bank; once updated, SMS method or app will work again.

  • Until the mobile is updated, you’ll rely on offline methods like statement, passbook or branch help.
